What is the LongN Winding Word?
The Long N Winding Word is the beginning of my journey into the online platform as much as I hope it is the beginning of your successful calligraphy adventures. It is here for all of you frustrated, aspiring calligraphers and artists out there who need that detail that you might not be able to find in other resources. If you’re ready to put the work in, so am I! If you find that I’m missing something, reach out and let me know. I will do my best to post content that is relevant to you and your needs.
Who Am I?
Calligraphy has brought me a wordless joy through โฆ ironically โฆ written words. I love seeing the forms take shape and I love learning new techniques and ways to improve each style. Throw in some color-play and nice paper? Iโm hooked.
You may have tried learning calligraphy with a pointed pen, a straight edge nib, a brush pen, or even a paintbrush (Iโm still working on this one), and found there are progress-stopping pitfalls in learning each tool and calligraphic form. You may not even know where to start or which form to choose!
I want to teach you how to get past these pitfalls to write the calligraphy youโve seen and dream of making yourself.
If you love the look of calligraphy and set a goal to create it yourself, but you just canโt get it quite right, and youโre on the verge of giving up to go back to your job at Starbucks, or in accounting, or as a receptionist (thatโs me!), youโre not alone! If youโre watching all of the classes out there and still canโt get your letterforms to look like your teacherโs, Iโm here to troubleshoot with you. And then take it a mile further! From quotes and wall-art layouts, to envelopes and invitations, I want you to feel confident that you can get there with your skills! AND – With the wedding industry picking up in the next year or so, this is a prime time to hone and perfect this skill if youโd like to grab some freelance work! (Imagine all those brides out there that have been waiting 2 years to have their perfect wedding?!) Can I be a part of your Calligra-journey?
